History

SkinniMalinx opened its doors in February 2010 and we haven't looked back since. We have worked hard to develop the brand into something that is instantly recognisable as standing for taste, quality and healthy living. Our menu is constantly being reviewed and updated to make sure we are bringing you the food that you want, at prices that are competitive and that fits in with your chosen diet or healthy eating plan. Since we opened we have tried lots of ingredients and recipes, (some of which haven't made it to the final menu but thanks to the friends and family members who acted as guinea pigs) developing our skills in using low fat, healthy ingredients to develop dishes that we are proud of.

When we opened, we also wanted to make sure that SkinniMalinx was also known for its great customer service, so we have picked and trained our staff to make sure that they are knowledgeable, friendly and proud ambassadors of the SkinniMalinx brand. We hope that you will agree that we have created something great... come in and see us and join us on facebook and twitter to be part of a healthy (and great tasting) future.

Healthy Eating

It is well known that the UK is facing an obesity crisis with many of us eating too many calories and too much fat, sugar and salt. Diet can have a major impact on heath. Consuming too many calories can result in obesity, and obesity can increase the risk of type 2 diabetes, some cancers and heart disease. The latest Health Survey for England data shows that nearly 1 in 4 adults and more than 1 in 10 children aged 2 to 10 are already obese, and this figure is rising.  An obese person with a body mass index of 35 could reach a more healthy weight and BMI of 22 by reducing their calorie intake by one third. Achieving this could be as simple as swapping to Skinnimalinx for your workday lunches or breakfasts!

There are two basic rules for a healthy diet: Eat a wide range of foods to ensure that you're getting a balanced diet and that your body is receiving all the nutrients it needs. Eat the right number of calories for how active you are, so that you balance the energy you consume with the energy you use. If you eat too much, you will put on weight. The average man needs around 2,500 calories a day. The average woman needs 2,000 calories.

At SkinniMalinx, we put this theory into practice, offering a wide range of food that is satisfying, tasty and filling but is low in calories, bad fats and sugar. We are the first small business in the UK to sign up to the governments 'Public Health Responsibility Deal', which means we show all the nutritional information on all our products as you are making your choice. Whatever your reason for wanting to follow a healthy diet, SkinniMalinx has the answer. We are the home of healthy eating on the High Street.

Freshly Handmade Everyday

We make all our food ourselves in our kitchen everyday. We buy fresh and quality products and only use low fat options such as cheese, yoghurt, mayonnaise and margarine. The sort we buy ourselves when we are eating healthily or dieting. Just like when we are at home we experiment to make really tasty soups, sandwiches, salads and more without it damaging our waist line.

Customers

Our customers are just like us, they want healthy, fresh options that won't break the bank. We strive to be able to cater to everyone, whether it be slimmers following a diet, busy workers looking for a quick healthy lunch, families wanting to eat out in a budget, shoppers needing somewhere to rest their feet and refuel or corporate clients requiring high quality outside catering. We provide it all. Our customers tell us how happy they are, hopefully you will agree.
